When the founders set out to create Café Lovelife, they wanted far more than another café in Birmingham’s trendy Digbeth district. The ambition was bold: a Mediterranean-inspired escape that felt closer to Ibiza than Brum, all within a stark, industrial shell on Floodgate Street. A challenge? Absolutely. But one we loved embracing.
The concept fused Digbeth’s gritty character with the soft curves and warmth of Mediterranean architecture. Iconic arches became the hero, inspired by the area’s railway heritage but reimagined with a sun-soaked twist. A warm pink palette added softness and comfort, encouraging guests to slow down, linger and soak it all in.
An open kitchen brings energy and theatre, while a show-stopping bar anchors the space, seamlessly shifting the mood from day to night. Since opening, Café Lovelife has become a social-media favourite and a go-to destination – not just for brunch, but for long lunches, evening drinks and a much-needed escape from the everyday. It’s a space that feels unique, inviting, and just the right kind of special.
