Perfect for every Sport

Our design is stripped back, pure with an urban edge, allowing various sports to shine through thoughtful typography and pitch designs. We maintained flexibility to cater to all sports, from Six Nations and boxing to the Premier League. With a clear message and a well-designed suite of assets, we aimed to deliver a consistent, dynamic sports experience.

Previous campaigns often had disparate look and were biased towards football. We needed a cohesive suite that worked across all sports and mediums. We introduced a flexible design vehicle that maintained a strong brand identity, allowing us to achieve consistency and clarity whatever the sport.

Unique and powerful toolkit

We implemented a vibrant colour palette that is humble yet electric, suitable for all sports. Our bold, modular fonts ensure clarity and exude confidence and passion for sports. We used gritty sports imagery, from abstract crops to emotional fan moments, each treated with unique duo-tone colour overlay. Our abstract, powerful, and flexible sports illustrations frame content and logos, ensuring each communication is unique and engaging.

A pioneering campaign

Here’s how we helped Greene King transform grassroots sports support with an innovative campaign that boosts IPA sales and strengthens community bonds. “Proud to Pitch In” showcases how pubs can become the heart of local sports communities.  A groundbreaking joint venture between Greene King IPA and Greene King Sport, this 

campaign pledges 10p from every IPA pint sold and 50p from supermarket packs to fund grassroots sports in England, Scotland, and Wales. It’s Greene King’s first initiative of its kind, aiming to increase IPA sales and promote the brand by linking pubs with communities through historic relationships with local sports teams.

Strengthening communities 
through local sports

Our biggest challenge was authentically conveying the essence of grassroots sports, avoiding polished or refined imagery, and instead focusing on the joy and passion of local sports. To best capture the grassroots spirit, we used real and authentic sporting imagery, packed with grit and noise, celebrating the love of sport across local communities. 

Our communications were carefully crafted to use the right messaging at each stage of the customer journey, ensuring we excite, engage, and entice. Posters placed at the bar and in venues aim to influence customers to buy GK IPA or support local sports teams by emphasising the role guests play in supporting grassroots sports through their purchases. A campaign that celebrate the togetherness that pub sports bring, reinforcing the idea that Greene King pubs are central to community life and grassroots sports support.
