Following the success of its eco conscious hotels in London, Amsterdam and Brussels, Qbic set its sights on Manchester. The brief was to transform a 1960s office building on Deansgate into a 261 key hotel that felt deeply connected to the city.
This was more than a conversion project. It was about creating a destination that reflects Manchester’s independent spirit. Alongside pet friendly rooms with king sized beds, guests can enjoy a gym, private meeting rooms and Motley, a 180 cover restaurant celebrating low mileage, seasonal produce.
The interiors pay tribute to local icons including Alan Turing and Emmeline Pankhurst, expressed through bold wall coverings, lighting and fabrics. Statement pieces by Manchester artist Bobo1325 add another layer of character. The result is a hotel that feels rooted in place, creatively confident and unmistakably Mancunian.
